to conduct a traffic survey u take a group of people and divide them into groups of 2 or more then u send them out to different spots in the area u want to survey and they count the cars that pass putting them in to different groups. then at then end u add them all up to see which is the place were most traffic passes through (it isnt a good idea to do it on a moterway though!!)
You should count the traffic over a fixed period, say 10 minutes, using tally marks to keep track of the numbers of vehicles. Everyone doing the survey must start and finish at the same time, otherwise you will not be able to compare one set of figures with another.
to carry out a traffic survey, groups of two will go to different areas and count the amount of vehicles that go in and out using a table with tally marks. all groups must do this survey the same amount of time as everyone else so we compare the results.
